It appears safe to say at this time that Gibson will miss beyond the six weeks that the Ducks anticipated after diagnosing him with the groin injury back on Nov. 4, but a return before the end of December is still in sight for the young goalie. However, with the Ducks inking Ilya Bryzgalov to a one-year deal that carries a larger cap hit than any of the team's goalies, it looks like Gibson could be relegated to the minors for the bulk of what's left of the season once he returns to full health.
