Has Carter Ashton been rewarded for good behavior?
Three-quarters of the way through his 20-game sentence for violating terms of the NHL's performance-enhancing substances program, Ashton has been made eligible to practice with the Toronto Maple Leafs, according to Leafs TV's Paul Hendrick.
The depth forward was suspended on Nov. 6 and did not appeal the decision despite claims that the substance was ingested using an inhaler to treat his asthma.
Ashton featured in three games - failing to register a point - before the positive test.
He is eligible to return Dec. 20 against the Philadelphia Flyers.
