Bruins' Bergeron returns for overtime following apparent hand injury
Bob DeChiara / USA TODAY Sports
Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron has played through some potentially life threatening injuries in the recent past. So of course he returned to Saturday's game against the Ottawa Senators after taking a heavy slash to the hand from Senators forward Mike Hoffman.
Bergeron initially left the contest late in the third period, but returned and took part in three shifts in the extra frame. He appeared to still be laboring though, and took a heavy hit from Senators defender Jared Cowen.
