Sabres trade Adam to Blue Jackets for D'Amigo
The Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets completed a minor trade involving fringe NHL forwards Tuesday evening, the clubs announced.
Heading to Buffalo is farmhand penalty-killing specialist Jerry D'Amigo, in exchange for Rochester Americans scoring center Luke Adam.
Adam is by far the more prolific of the two at the AHL level, but has never really found a permanent place at the NHL level. Considering the dearth of talent on the Sabres' roster, that's a significant red flag.
D'Amigo is a useful two-way forward at the AHL level, but hasn't produced at a rate that one would expect of a future NHL regular - even a regular depth player.
