5 photos you need to see from Saturday's NHL action

The NHL schedule was relatively light for a Saturday, but the scoreboard was humming all day long, providing no shortage of stirring images along the way.

Here are five photos that hockey fans need to see:

David Perron must have felt like he had won the lottery after being traded from the Edmonton Oilers to the Pittsburgh Penguins and placed on a line with Sidney Crosby. Perron made good on the opportunity, scoring his first goal with the club less than 10 minutes into Saturday's game against the Montreal Canadiens, assisted by (who else?) the captain himself.

Ottawa Senators forward Bobby Ryan proved that good things happen when you go to the net, scoring the overtime game-winning goal in Boston after outwitting Zdeno Chara and before tumbling over Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask.

The Nashville Predators blew a late third period lead in Los Angeles, coughing up three goals to the Los Angeles Kings in the last two minutes of regulation. Roman Josi, however, salvaged the extra point by snapping the puck past Martin Jones 18 seconds into overtime.

Dustin Byfuglien was a force to be reckoned with in the Winnipeg Jets 5-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. The burly defenseman scored a goal, added an assist and leveled three hits, including this doozy at the expense of David Clarkson.

Finally, the ageless Jaromir Jagr recorded a hat trick in a win over the Philadelphia Flyers. The New Jersey faithful appropriately rained down their New Jersey Devils hats from the stands. The hat trick was Jagr's 15th of his career, as he became the oldest player in NHL history to accomplish the feat.
