VIDEO: Wild's Cooke probably regrets cross-checking Predators' Weber
Brace Hemmelgarn / USA Today
If Minnesota Wild forward Matt Cooke wanted to motivate his team late in Saturday's loss to the Nashville Predators, he could have chosen a better way than getting pounded by Shea Weber.
Weber and Cooke exchanged words at center ice before Cooke drove the shaft of his stick into Weber's face, sending the Predators captain into a frenzy. Cooke was barely able to shield himself from the barrage of punches that followed.
Unsurprisingly, the fight did little to spark Minnesota, which is winless in four games and 2-6-4 in its last 12.
