Bergeron wants NHL to add back-checking event to All-Star Skills Competition
If the NHL All-Star Skills Competition had a back-checking event, Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron would probably be like Shea Weber is to Zdeno Chara in the hardest shot competition, but to Detroit Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk. That is to say: forever second place.
No matter. Bergeron just wants the opportunity to show off his smothering defensive abilities at All-Star weekend:
