The Columbus Blue Jackets could be without the services of Sergei Bobrovsky far beyond All-Star weekend.

Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen told reporters Bobrovsky suffered a groin injury. The good news is the injury is not on the same side as last season's groin ailment - the bad news is Bobrovsky's return timetable is uncertain.

"It's gonna be a while," Kekalainen said Friday.

Bobrovsky's backup is Curtis McElhinney, a 31-year-old with 33 career NHL victories. Another option for Columbus is 22-year-old Anton Forsberg, a 2011 draft pick who made his first NHL start on Nov. 1.
