Ovechkin finally gets new car, donates it to charitable cause
Alex Ovechkin's wish was unexpectedly granted Sunday night, and the Washington Capitals star immediately paid it forward.
Ovechkin wasn't picked last in the All-Star Fantasy Draft on Friday, nor was he named MVP of Sunday's game, but Honda decided to give him a car anyway.
He is donating the vehicle to Ann Schaub, a 10-year-old with Down Sydrome, and the Nova Cool Cats Special Hockey program. He befriended Schaub last year and went on a sushi date with her in September.

His plan all along was to win the car and donate it to Cool Cats, a program based in Virginia.
Ovechkin was picked third-last in the Fantasy Draft, but Honda representatives reached out to his agent after seeing Ovechkin lobbying hard for the car.
"It's just a sweet time, a good time, a cool time for me and for her," Ovechkin said.
"I'm pretty sure they're going to use (the car) all the time. Obviously for them, it's going to be a great present from my side, from Honda's side and from all (of) the NHL's side."
