Report: Jets listening to offers on Evander Kane
The fallout from the Winnipeg Jets' decision to make Evander Kane a healthy scratch in Tuesday's overtime loss to the Vancouver Canucks continues.
According to reports, Kane was made a healthy scratch for a dress code violation, the latest in what has been a series of instances in which Kane and the team have butted heads.
The official reason why Kane was a healthy scratch is just the tip of the iceberg, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA.
Now the Jets are reportedly listening to trade offers from other teams, according to Darren Dreger of TSN, though he goes on to note that there are some medical issues that need to be resolved.
According to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet, the feeling around the league is that the price on Kane has dropped, and that one top asset may be enough to complete a deal.
Given Kane's age and skill level, a wide range of teams have been rumored to be interested in acquiring his services, with win-now teams like the Pittsburgh Penguins possibly interested in a deal that would send Brandon Sutter to Winnipeg, and teams looking to the future like the Toronto Maple Leafs also showing interest.
