Jaroslav Halak is usurping Billy Smith one record after the other.
Halak became the fastest New York Islanders goaltender to reach 30 wins in Thursday's victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs, reaching the milestone in his 41st game, the NHL's Public Relations announced.
Smith reached the 30-win plateau in 42 games to start the 1981-82 season.
Halak previously broke Smith's franchise-best streak of consecutive wins with his 11th straight victory on Dec. 5.
