Ryan Getzlaf accuses Alex Ovechkin of diving in Ducks' loss to Capitals
Ryan Getzlaf thinks Alex Ovechkin could have a second career in a swimming pool.
The Anaheim Ducks star was furious after a 5-3 loss to the Washington Capitals on Sunday with what he thought was Ovechkin diving.
"I didn't know he was going to dive tonight the way he did all over the f---ing ice. That part of it’s a little (more) embarrassing, pardon my language," said Getzlaf after the game, according to Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register.
"He’s a great player. He’s going to score goals and make plays. That other stuff’s embarrassing,"
Getzlaf pointed to a pair of slashing penalties that landed himself and teammate Andrew Cogliano in the penalty box.
"The slash on me. The slash on his hand. When we ran into him and he dove down. All those things. It's embarrassing to the game.”
It probably didn't help Getzlaf's temper that Ovechkin also scored twice and added two assists.
