Report: Senators receiving offers for Phillips, will let veteran decide fate

The Ottawa Senators have reportedly offered the longest-serving member in team history an opportunity to bolt.
There are two offers on the table for veteran blue-liner Chris Phillips and the Senators are reportedly awaiting his blessing to further those negotiations, according to TVA's Renaud Lavoie.
Phillips has been slowed by injury in his 17th season with the franchise. He has just three assists in 36 starts, but does still average more than 20 minutes when he's in the lineup, and owns an even rating.
He could provide a veteran presence and bottom-pairing minutes to a playoff team looking to fill out their rotation on the back end.
