Connor McDavid recorded an assist in the second period of Friday's OHL game between the Erie Otters and the Guelph Storm, extending his franchise-record point streak to 20 games.
McDavid is the favorite among scouts to be selected first overall in the 2015 NHL entry draft and his status as front-runner is reinforced with each point he adds to his streak. He has 45 points over the 20-contest stretch, which dates back to before he suffered a hand injury in November.
McDavid is sixth in league scoring despite missing 20 games due to the injury and the 2015 World Junior Championship.
