Report: Blackhawks looking at Hurricanes' Sekera
Eager to make another deep postseason run, the Chicago Blackhawks are reportedly looking east in an attempt to help solidify their blue line.
"The Chicago Blackhawks have believed to be extensively scouting the (Carolina) Hurricanes lately, looking at (Andrej) Sekera to help bolster the depth on their blue line," Bob McKenzie said Tuesday on TSN's Insider Trading segment.
The unrestricted free agent is expected to be moved prior to Monday's trade deadline, with the Hurricanes reportedly seeking a first-round pick and a prospect.
McKenzie noted that the Hurricanes have received plenty of interest in Sekera, who has two goals and 17 assists in 56 games while averaging 22:50 of ice time.
Chicago could use some help on the blue line as they are expected to be without defenseman Johnny Oduya for the next couple weeks.
