Rangers' Girardi reaches out for rare power-play goal

Dan Girardi finally has his token power-play goal of the season.
The New York Rangers brought in Keith Yandle prior to the trade deadline, so naturally it was their least offensively-gifted defenseman who ended up capitalizing on the man advantage Wednesday in Detroit.
Girardi, stationed near the front of the net, pounced on a loose puck and reached out with his left hand to poke it past Jimmy Howard.

The power-play goal was Girardi's 13th in 631 career games, and his third over the past four seasons.
Clearly Yandle was brought in to act as a decoy.
