Sidney Crosby a late scratch vs. Bruins
Pittsburgh Penguins forward Sidney Crosby was not on the ice or the bench to start Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins, despite being listed on the lineup card.
Crosby took part in the pregame warmup but was removed prior to puck drop.
The start of the game was briefly delayed while the officials sorted out the lineup. Proper protocol was followed, as the league explained:

The Penguins did not immediately provide a reason for Crosby's absence.
