Los Angeles Kings forward Tyler Toffoli was booted from Saturday's game against the Vancouver Canucks after sending Alex Burrows into the boards with a dangerous hit.
Toffoli was given a five-minute boarding major and a game misconduct early in the third period after cross-checking Burrows, who fell into the boards and skated off gingerly.
Burrows left for the dressing room but was able to return later in the period.
The Canucks scored on the ensuing power play and held on for a 4-1 victory.
The NHL will review Toffoli's hit on Burrows for possible supplemental discipline, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Saturday night during the "Headlines" segment of Hockey Night in Canada.
