Montreal Canadiens forward Tomas Plekanec didn't just give his team a lead when he scored late in the first period against the San Jose Sharks, he also broke a longstanding shutout streak.
With his 22nd goal of the season, Plekanec broke the Canadiens' streak of 215 minutes without a goal against the Sharks - a streak that saw the team shut out in the three previous games between the two.
Plekanec finished off a nice play, receiving a cross-ice pass from Alex Galchenyuk and sliding it past Antti Niemi to give his team a 1-0 lead.

The last time the Habs had scored against the Sharks was back on Dec 1, 2011, when Erik Cole scored during a 4-3 shootout loss.
