VIDEO: Islanders' farmhand Mouillierat scores unreal lacrosse-style goal
Anthony Gruppuso / USA TODAY Sports
Lacrosse-style goals have been attempted and converted at various levels of hockey before, but the New York Islanders' AHL affiliate got one from an unexpected source Sunday.
Bridgeport Sound Tigers center Kael Mouillierat pulled off his own version against the Binghamton Senators, opening the scoring by lifting the puck and depositing it behind goaltender Peter Mannino less than three minutes in.
We're not sure what's more inexplicable - that play or the home team's nickname.
