Columbus Blue Jackets forward Cam Atkinson scored a pair of goals on Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford in the first period on Friday night, and the second one ended the netminder's night.
Atkinson cruised in shorthanded and beat Crawford to give the Blue Jackets a 4-2 lead with 4:14 left in the opening frame.
Crawford was immediately replaced by Scott Darling in the Blackhawks' crease after facing only 13 shots.
Atkinson added an empty-netter in the final minute to complete the hat trick.
