Dehydrated Rask leaves game vs. Rangers, goalie coach Essensa dresses as backup
10 seconds into the second period of Saturday's game against the New York Rangers, the Boston Bruins were forced to make a change in net.
The change occurred when starting goalie Tuukka Rask called for the attention of the referee, promptly skated off the ice and walked down the tunnel to the locker room.
Niklas Svedberg entered the game in relief.
Later in the game, which the Bruins won 4-2, the Bruins announced Rask was unlikely to return, and he in fact did not.
They offered the following update after the game:
Julien said Tuukka's fine, "looks like it may have been a case of dehydration" - he's set to travel with the team today ^CS
