The St. Louis Blues may have lost more than a hockey game Monday against the Vancouver Canucks.

Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko left in the third period with an apparent injury. He was slow to get up after being tripped by Kevin Bieksa with less than 12 minutes remaining.

Tarasenko took a shift on the ensuing power play, then came off the ice slowly and left for the dressing room.

The Blues lost the game 4-1, squandering a chance to clinch a playoff spot, but the potential loss of their leading scorer is a bigger concern at the moment.

St. Louis coach Ken Hitchcock said Tarasenko will be evaluated Tuesday.

The forward was seen walking with a slight limp and his right leg was heavily bandaged after the game, according to Tom Timmerman of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
