Panthers' Ekblad playing for Canada at upcoming World Championship
Perry Nelson / USA Today
Aaron Ekblad isn't done playing hockey even though the Florida Panthers' season is about to end.
The Panthers rookie defenseman will represent Canada at the upcoming IIHF World Championship in the Czech Republic.
Ekblad set franchise records for goals and points by a rookie defenseman after being selected first overall by Florida in 2014. He will have a little bit of time to recover from his first taste of professional hockey before the tournament begins May 1.
