PHOTOS: Playoff hockey returns to Winnipeg
For the first time since 1996, the city of Winnipeg hosted an NHL playoff game on Monday. Unfortunately for the home fans, the Jets dropped a 5-4 overtime decision to the Anaheim Ducks in Game 3.
While the team that last hosted a postseason game in Manitoba has since moved to the desert, the current Jets - formerly the Atlanta Thrashers - adopted the old tradition of wearing all white for the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Here are photos you need to see from the Game 3 whiteout:
The calm before the storm.
Lee Stempniak gave the Jets a 1-0 lead, much to the delight of the home crowd.
As this sign suggests, Jets fans weren't going to stay quiet.
One young fan took the opportunity to send a message to Ducks center Ryan Kesler.
Finally, at least one fan paid homage to the giant portrait of Queen Elizabeth II that used to hang in the old Jets arena.
While the result wasn't what Jets fans were hoping for, they sure made their presence felt and proved once again that they're one of the loudest and most passionate groups around the league.
