Canadiens' Gallagher on final minutes of Game 6: 'It took forever, eh?'
It took the Montreal Canadiens three tries to eliminate the Ottawa Senators after going up 3-0 in their first-round series, and they almost let Ottawa stay alive late in Sunday's Game 6.
The Senators held a 14-4 shot advantage in the third period of the contest, including a frantic final few minutes where they pummeled Carey Price with shots while their net was empty. The barrage was enough to rattle Brendan Gallagher, who had the game's only goal prior to Max Pacioretty's empty-netter.
"It took forever, eh?" Gallagher told reporters about the final minutes of the series. "The clock is ticking and you're trying not to look but you can't help it."

Senators forward Clarke MacArthur was right in the middle of Ottawa's late surge, but he and the rest of the team emerged empty-handed.
"We had everything we wanted," MacArthur said. "Everything but a goal."
