After an empty-net goal by Marian Hossa, the series seemed secure.
The Wild, however, weren't going to go home quietly, putting the game within reach thanks to late-period goals from Jason Pominville and Nino Niederreiter.
But Corey Crawford and the Blackhawks managed to hold on as the final slew of action came their way, securing the 4-3 victory.
Chicago awaits the winner of the series between the Anaheim Ducks and Calgary Flames.
