Report: Oilers interested in Swiss defenseman Dean Kukan

The Edmonton Oilers' executive team better fashion a pop-up office in the Czech Republic.

Fervently working to put a high-profile coach under their label, the Oilers are also scouting prospects in their travels and have a keen eye on Switzerland's blue line.

Peter Chiarelli and his staff are interested in 21-year-old defenseman Dean Kukan, reports Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman. Kukan has worked his way through the Swiss ranks since embarking on a professional career at the age of 16.

He is reportedly a strong skater, but is having his performance affected by an injury suffered in the tournament.
