The end may be near for Josh Harding.
The 30-year-old Minnesota Wild goaltender is expected to retire this summer, reports Michael Russo of the Star Tribune.
"I wouldn’t want to speak for him, but he has bigger issues than just hockey," said Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher.
Harding suffers from multiple sclerosis, which causes blurred vision and affects his balance and coordination.
The netminder was one of the great stories of 2013-14, when he began the season as a surefire Vezina Trophy candidate - posting an 18-7-3 record with a goals-against average of 1.65 - before the disorder derailed his campaign.
