The Ottawa Senators provided an update in their search for a live, compatible liver donor for owner Eugene Melnyk, revealing that they have received an overwhelming response since reaching out the public.
More than 2,000 messages pertaining to the search have been received, with a number of applications already sent to medical personnel working in Toronto, but they are still encouraging potential donors to make contact.
Members of the donor transplant team will review the applicants over the weekend before deciding on a firm course of action.
The Senators provided thanks to those who reached out.
