PHOTO: McDavid named OHL playoff MVP after loss, leaves trophy in hallway
Connor McDavid's junior hockey career ended Friday when the Erie Otters were defeated 6-2 by the Oshawa Generals in Game 5 of the OHL championship, losing the series 4-1.
McDavid was held off the scoresheet in the contest and finished the postseason with 49 points in 20 games - two points shy of tying the league record for points in a playoff run, but enough to capture the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as the most valuable player of the postseason.
But individual accolades can be tough to stomach after a hard-fought loss, so McDavid left the trophy in the hallway.

McDavid likely set the trophy down to hug his father, who was there to offer some support following the postgame media scrum.
