Peter DeBoer has piqued the San Jose Sharks' interest.
It's believed the former New Jersey Devils coach will be summoned to San Jose for a second interview by Sharks general manager Doug Wilson and his management team, reports TSN's Darren Dreger.
DeBoer guided the Devils to an improbable Stanley Cup Final appearance in his first year, but missed the playoffs in the following two seasons and was fired for stumbling into his fourth.
Also the former head coach of the Florida Panthers, DeBoer owns six-and-a-half seasons of NHL coaching experience and holds an overall 217-200-77 record.
Wilson fired Todd McLellan after the long-time Sharks coach failed to guide his roster to the playoffs for the first time in his seven seasons at the helm.
