Coyotes welcome Nick Boynton back to radio duties after charges laid in Buffalo
The Arizona Coyotes are giving Nick Boynton a second chance.
The club has reinstated the former NHL defenseman to his radio color analyst duties after Boynton pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct charges following an incident at a Buffalo-area casino in March.
"I've met with Nick several times and he knows he made a terrible mistake," said Coyotes co-owner, President and CEO Anthony LeBlanc in a statement Friday. "Nick is a good person and everyone deserves a second chance. He recently completed his alcohol counseling program and will now be reinstated as our radio color analyst."
Boynton, who was part of the 2010 Stanley Cup winning Chicago Blackhawks, retired from play in 2011 after 605 career games in the NHL.
He'll resume his duties behind the mic once the Coyotes take to the ice next season.
