Strome's 84 assists and 129 points with the Erie Otters led the OHL and set single-season franchise records. His 45 goals ranked third in the league.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound center added 22 points in 20 playoff contests as the Otters advanced to the OHL Final and lost to the eventual Memorial Cup-champion Oshawa Generals.

Strome was the 2014-15 recipient of the William Hanley Trophy as the OHL's most sportsmanlike player. He notched five goals and one assist in five games for Canada at the 2014 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

He is the younger brother of New York Islanders forward Ryan Strome.

What the Scouts Are Saying

“He has that competitive edge and grittiness; he wants to succeed, wants the puck, wants to score and wants to win," said Dan Marr, the director of NHL Central Scouting.

"He’s a skilled, driven player, a strong skater with the agility and reach that scouts love.”
