Colin Fraser may have three Stanley Cup titles on his resume, but that wasn't enough to land him an NHL gig for next season.
The 30-year-old forward signed with Germany's Nurnberg Ice Tigers for one year at a salary in the $98,000 range, he told Pro Hockey Talk's Dhiren Mahiban.
"I feel like my NHL career has seen better days," said Fraser. "I almost went overseas last year, but decided to try to get back to the NHL via the AHL like when I was young.
"Now being 30, and having small children, I felt like it was the time to go and experience not only European hockey, but the culture and lifestyle too. Hopefully it all works out and I can extend my career a few years longer."
Fraser appeared in just one game with the St. Louis Blues last season, spending the majority of his time with the AHL's Chicago Wolves, recording 17 points and 67 penalty minutes in 59 games.
