The Washington Capitals are turning back the clock with a new alternate jersey for next season.
The club released a few images of the new thirds Tuesday, which are patterned after the team's original red jerseys and will be worn during select home games during the 2015-16 season.
Here's a glimpse of the new duds, as modeled by captain Alex Ovechkin:

The primary red is an homage to the uniforms worn by the club between 1974-75 and 1994-95. The Capitals will wear blue pants and red helmets with the alternate jerseys.
Washington winger Tom Wilson is apparently a fan of the new look.
