The Pittsburgh Penguins are said to be in the market for a scoring winger, but it appears as though Martin St. Louis doesn't quite fit their criteria.
The Penguins are not expected to pursue the aging forward when the free-agency period opens Wednesday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
St. Louis was believed to share mutual interest with the Penguins and New Jersey Devils, two teams who meet his geographical needs. He stated after the season that being close to family was his utmost concern, whether or not it came at the expense of his hockey career.
Just two years removed from leading the league in scoring, St. Louis was reduced to 21 goals and 52 points this season.
