Brandon Saad admitted he's still a little shocked about his trade to the Columbus Blue Jackets, but his intent is unclouded.
Saad told reporters on a conference call Wednesday that his objective is to sign a contract with Columbus, though he's aware of a potential offer sheet - the threat believed to have forced his trade from the Chicago Blackhawks.
Saad added that he expects his agent to sort out terms, indicating that they have settled on a specific demand.
Columbus landed the restricted free agent in a seven-player deal that saw Artem Anisimov and Marko Dano land with the reigning Stanley Cup champs.
TSN's Darren Dreger notes that the Blue Jackets will match any offer sheet on the newly-acquired power forward.
