Ilya Samsonov is staying home, for the time being at least.
The 18-year-old goalie, drafted 22nd overall at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals, will play with KHL club Magnitogorsk this season, according to Igor Eronko of Sport-Express.
The expectation is that he'll compete for the No. 1 job after appearing in only one game last season.
Samsonov, who came up through Magnitogorsk's youth program, has three years remaining on his deal with the team.
