As expected, Las Vegas has reportedly made its bid for an NHL franchise.
Bill Foley has submitted his application for an NHL club under Black Knight Sports and Entertainment LLC, according to a text from Foley to News 3's Amber Dixon.
It's been no secret the chairman of Fidelity National Financial has been adamant about bringing a club to the city. Construction for an arena is well underway, while Foley also held a season-ticket drive that, as of late April, is reported to have sold over 11,000 tickets.
Foley's move follows media giant Quebecor, who submitted an application earlier in the day to bring a team to Quebec City.
It is believed expansion teams will not join until at least the 2017-18 season.
