NHL invites Quebec City to move forward with expansion application
Two expansion bids remain alive and well.
Quebecor - the group backing a bid to bring NHL hockey back to Quebec City - has been invited to participate in the second phase of the expansion application process, deputy commissioner Bill Daly confirmed to Kevin Dube of Le Journal de Quebec.
We confirm that the #NHL has retained Quebecor's candidacy for the 2nd phase of the expansion process. #Nordiques #Quebec City

The news came shortly after the Las Vegas group confirmed an invitation to move along with a bid of its own.
Commissioner Gary Bettman said a decision on both bids could come in the next few months.
Work is well underway on the Videotron Centre in Quebec City, the expected home of a potential new franchise, which would give the city its first taste of NHL hockey since the Nordiques left for Colorado in 1995.
