Canadiens raise some upper-level season ticket prices by 24 percent

Bleeding money in the Bell Centre nosebleeds.

Without warning, some Montreal Canadiens season-ticket holders with seats in the upper level have seen their ticket prices raise 24 percent from last season, reports the Stu Cowan from the Montreal Gazette.

The decision, as one would imagine, has been met with minor outrage.

"They don't even say anything to us," one disgruntled fan said. "They just send the bill out. They should be embarrassed by that and I'm a huge Habs fan. I'm really, really mad at this. They could have at least sent out a letter saying due to this and that we had to put up the cost. But 24 per cent?

"They nailed us big time."

Other pricier sections in the upper bowl have apparently gone up 10 percent, while the lower bowl with see a 3 percent increase - which is apparently the norm from season to season.

The markup, according to the Canadiens, is to have the ticket prices reflect market value.
