Henrik Lundqvist's new mask looks almost exactly like the one he wore two seasons ago.
The New York Rangers goaltender unveiled the new headgear on Instagram on Tuesday with the following caption:
Going back in time.. Trying chrome cage again next season. Hope you guys like it.
Renowned designer David Gunnarsson created the mask, which is very similar to the one he made for Lundqvist back in September 2013.
The Rangers advanced to the Stanley Cup Final that season, so maybe Lundqvist is hoping that bringing back the chrome will help his team get back to the championship round.
