Nik Antropov feels he still has gas left in the tank.

The 35-year-old forward, who spent the past two seasons playing for the KHL's Barys Astana, is participating in the BioSteel camp in Toronto with a view to earning a National Hockey League training-camp tryout.

"I have a year or two in me for sure," Antropov told Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun. "We're talking to a couple of teams, who I won't name. My experience is huge. I know the game has gotten a lot faster, which is why I'm at this camp. We'll see where I end up."

Selected 10th overall at the 1998 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Antropov appeared in 788 career games, also suiting up for the New York Rangers and Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets.

Antropov recorded six goals and 12 assists for the Jets in 40 regular-season games in 2013, and hopes to add to his NHL resume come October.

"If anything comes up, I'll be grateful. If not, I'll have to think about what's going on."

In 39 KHL games this past season, he scored seven goals and totaled 21 points.
