Leadership is a characteristic seldom found in a 21-year-old, especially in today's NHL
However, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly feels that with just two NHL seasons under his belt, he's primed to be a player his team can look up to.
"I'm at the point now where I've played a couple years and I think I'm ready for that leadership role," Rielly told reporters. "I want that expectation to be a go-to guy and I want to be a big part of this team and I'm looking forward to the challenge."
Rielly set career highs with eight goals and 29 points last season and could slot on the team's top defense pairing in the season ahead.
