Former Montreal Canadiens head coach Jacques Demers will coach a team of Habs' legends at the 2016 Winter Classic Alumni Game, TVA's Renaud Lavoie reports.
The Canadiens' alumni squad will face off against former members of the Boston Bruins on Dec. 31 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., one day before the current members of what is arguably the NHL's fiercest rivalry meet in the Winter Classic game.
Demers led the Canadiens to their most recent Stanley Cup championship in 1993. He is the only coach to win the Jack Adams Award in consecutive seasons, doing so with the Detroit Red Wings in 1987 and 1988.
The 71-year-old has been a Canadian Senator since 2009.
