The AHL's Rochester Americans have signed forward Patrick Kaleta to a one-year contract, and the veteran agitator will attend the Buffalo Sabres' training camp on a tryout deal.
Kaleta recorded three points and 36 penalty minutes in 42 games for the Sabres last season, his ninth with the organization.
Earlier this week, Sabres general manager Tim Murray said he was still considering signing Kaleta despite the club's surplus of forwards, including new additions Ryan O'Reilly and Jack Eichel, along with a healthy Evander Kane.
Kaleta has 27 goals, 27 assists, and 542 penalty minutes, over 348 career games. He was a sixth-round pick of the Sabres in 2004.
