Nick Merkley will have to wait another year for his first NHL training camp.
Arizona Coyotes general manager Don Maloney said Thursday that the 30th overall draft selection will miss Coyotes training camp with a collarbone injury.
The winger, obtained with the first-round selection acquired in the Antoine Vermette trade, scored 20 goals and 70 assists for the Kelowna Rockets last season.
He figures to return to the Western Hockey League this season.
