Veteran goaltender Ray Emery has signed a professional tryout contract with the Los Angeles Kings' AHL affiliate the Ontario Reign, the team announced Saturday.
Emery had signed a tryout contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning this offseason, but was ultimately released by the team.
The Reign also welcomed another veteran goaltender on Saturday in Peter Budaj, who cleared waivers Saturday. The 33-year-old was signed by the Kings on Friday and then immediately placed on waivers with the purpose of being re-assigned to the AHL.
Budaj and Emery join Michael Houser and Patrik Bartosak as the four goaltenders listed on the Reign's roster.
