The Toronto Maple Leafs signed forward Brad Boyes to a one-year contract, the team announced Sunday.

The deal will pay Boyes $700,000, according to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston.

The Maple Leafs invited Boyes to camp on a professional tryout after he spent the past two seasons with the Florida Panthers.

The move comes after the club released forwards Devin Setoguchi and Curtis Glencross from their tryout contracts earlier in the day.

Toronto originally drafted Boyes in the first round, 24th overall, in 2000.
